About this course
A level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) is suitable if you work with children but do not require a 12 hour course for the full OFSTED register.
First Aid for childcare practitioners and voluntary part of the Ofsted register only. We also include Adult CPR and AED in this course. The classification in first aid language is as follows: An infant is 0-1 a child is 1-18 and an Adult is over 18. This change was made by Resuscitation Council UK IN 2021.
This course meets the criteria of the reviewed EYFS guidelines (July 2021) as well as the voluntary part of the Ofsted Childcare Register. Child care settings who wish to apply for the Millie’s Mark award will be required to attend our full 12 hour PFA course. Further information about Ofsted registration and your mandatory requirements can be found by visiting our first aid for childcare providers page.
Emergency Paediatric First Aid focuses on common scenarios that may be faced by those looking after babies and young children.
- Certified CPD evidence-based learning statement and certificate upon successful completion
- Includes recent guidelines on infection prevention with the outbreak of Severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS–CoV–2)
What to expect and how to prepare for your classroom training.
On arrival, you will be given a debrief. Hand sanitiser, training props, individual manikins, and everything you need for the course is provided. Come with an open mind and burning questions.
Our instructors are experienced in creating and facilitating a non-judgemental and entertaining learning environment. We encourage participants to take away this attitude into their own lives following the training. All learners are made to feel safe and included, and we often see the group bond as a result.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring some photo ID, as is required in order to validate this award.
You may wish to bring a notebook for any additional notes. Covid-19 secure refreshments are complementary throughout the training, but we do ask you to bring your own favourite mug, and your lunch. There is ample fridge space and food outlets close by. We have everything else covered.
We are also fully aware of the anxiety that many students have over coming into a public space. There is a lot to think about which we have already thought about. You are in safe hands.
Anything else?
Your instructor will send you an e mail a couple of days prior to the classroom training, so that you have their contact details should you be running late, or have additional accessibility requirements.
This course can also be delivered on site at a reduced group fee (subject to our risk assessment)
