This course is the classroom face to face version of the two day course.
*Group discounts; There is a caveat….. that you reinvest these great savings in the wellbeing of you and your staff. Examples include offering theatre tickets, massage sessions, learning something new and fun, (such as magic, baking or a new language, keep it clean…), providing refreshments during a social meeting, investing in training more staff?
Practicing self care means you are better prepared to support others too.

What do Ofsted say?
To be graded ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ for personal development, behaviour and welfare, Ofsted describes a whole school approach. Such as up to date policies and procedures for mental health. Quality Mental Health Training. Mental Health and resilience training embedded in the curriculum, and effective referral pathways with strong communication and partnership.
This two Day Youth MHFA England course is the only recognised training programme that qualifies you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. All our MHFA Instructors have completed the training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, (RSPH).

What does this course teach me?
Using evidence-based training, this means we have real data, from significant credible studies; you will develop practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. (See also course topics tab above)
Youth Mental Health First Aiders will develop the following:
- An in depth understanding of young people’s mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a young person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate
- Ability to support a young person with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive
- Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing
Who are MHFA England?
MHFA is a global movement active in 27 countries. Each country licenses their own MHFA programme separately – you can see a list of all international MHFA programmes at mhfainternational.org.
Mental Health First Aid training came to England in 2007. The Department of Health: National Institute of Mental Health in England (NIMHE) developed and launched the programme as part of a national approach to improve public mental health. MHFA England are the Licensed Provider of Mental Health First Aid training from MHFA International. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that delivers a range of mental health courses in communities across the country.
MHFA England’s overall vision is to normalise society’s attitudes and behaviours around mental health, by developing the skills we need to look after our own and others’ wellbeing.
What do I need to attend the Youth 2 day Classroom MHFA England course?
If you don’t have a venue that is suitable please let us know, and we will arrange this for you. (Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk only). Your workbooks and manual will be given out to learners during the first session.
