EFAW Emergency First Aid at Work

This course is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2017 changes.
There is no longer an official “appointed person’s first aid course”. This was replaced by the one day statutory EFAW. Introduced in 2009 for those business that don’t require a full 3-day First Aid at Work qualification, but do require practical first aid knowledge.
This course is also recognised by the FA for those who require the FA Emergency Aid course.
All our courses include safe defibrillator (AED) and haemorrhage control skills. In the event of a serious incident the confidence and skills gained on this course are invaluable. Ideal for a refresher, a re-qualification, or for individuals who have never attended a first aid course.

Equestrian EFAW or Equestrian FAW annual refresher training course

Ideal as a standalone training course or an annual refresher, our Equestrian EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work - which is a nationally recognised qualification) is aimed at anyone involved with horses. This Equine EFAW has an emphasis on injuries more likely to occur when working with hoses and important considerations when dealing with accidents outdoors or in a more rural environment.
This course is also recommended as an annual refresher for all equestrian professionals. trainers, BHS approved instructors, vets, equine osteopaths’, physiotherapists and chiropractors, farriers, grooms, and responsible horse owners.
If you are working with the public or a setting with more than 5 employees we advise that at least one member of staff completes the 18 hour FAW course due to the higher hazard risk. For additional guidance on your settings risk assessment please get in touch.

For those who require a basic first aid course and work in the sports and training sector. A popular course delivered on-site at your convenience, or at one of our open classroom training venues. Course fees include (upon successful completion) a detailed first aid manual, certificate, and handy pocket face shield as well as accident forms and wall charts for your setting.
Basic sports first aid courses are 4 hours however a 6 hour course may be more suitable for groups with bespoke needs.
If you require an FA Emergency Aid course, or you are part of a national governing body in sport such as the Lawn Tennis Association, a level 3 EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) course may be required by some professional sporting associations and governing bodies.

Martial Arts First Aid

This course is specially designed to cater for the injuries that could occur with martial arts training and classes. Covered in the courses are different subjects that would apply to any martial arts sector. The course is ideal for instructors and students.
Martial Arts by its nature presents a risk. When carried out correctly, the injury does not usually happen, but in the case where it does, the responsible precaution is for everyone to have a basic understanding of what to do. This course covers injuries, including contact injuries, cardiac arrest, as well as illnesses like an allergic reaction. First aid is an easy skill to learn, and the training is delivered in a series of short videos with knowledge review questions to increase understanding. All the videos are filmed in a martial arts setting and based on real problems that you may face.

A popular relevant first aid course for those working in schools or running after school and holiday clubs. Our Sports First Aid in Education and Extra-curricular covers relevant syllabus from Paediatric first aid, Sports first aid, and the recently upgraded FA Emergency Aid (FAEA) courses. This course also takes into account the Department for Education guidance on first aid for schools. It is ideal for coaches and teachers not on the permanent school staff headcount.

This course is aimed at anyone involved with horses where the FAW (First Aid at Work) qualification is needed in addition to specific injuries involved when working with horses. If you are involved in teaching riding or other activities you are required to have the BHS (British Horse Society) first aid qualification or the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) FAW qualification. With this course you will gain the approved FAW with extra subjects and apply the course to the equestrian world.

First Aid for Cyclists
Online First aid training courses for all cycle users, active pursuits and sports. Includes CPD (Continuous Professional Development) time credit conformation.
Duration: 4.5 hours
Cyclists are at an increased risk of accidents and are more likely to stop at another accident. When dealing with a cycling accident, there is also the risk of being hit by another vehicle. This course is aimed at all cyclists, whether you race or use your cycle in town. This course covers basic life support skills and the specific problems that are faced by cyclists. The course can be taught locally or at your local cycle club.
The course covers the issues that are likely to be found by cyclists at all levels. Group or individual practical classroom skills assessments can be arranged on site at you convenience. Practical group sessions run for a minimum of 2 hours up to 6 hours depending of your own group or individual needs.
