Course Accreditation

Understanding accreditation terms and due diligence so you can book your training with confidence.

Supporting downloads available at the bottom of this page

The 2013 amendment to regulation 3(2) of the Health and Safety (First-aid) Regulations 1981 removed the requirement for HSE to approve the training and qualifications of appointed first-aid personnel.

As the HSE no longer approves first-aid training and qualifications. It is the responsibility of the employers to select first-aid training providers.

The expected course level (Level 2, 3 or 4) to be achieved and relevant certificate accreditation are specifically listed with each course description, along with learning outcomes, assessment criteria and syllabus.

Regulated Qualifications

On the 1st January 2018, all the final QCF regulated qualifications change to RQF. This will mean that all regulated qualifications are now RQF and QCF will no longer exist.

A 'Regulated Qualification' is a qualification that is provided through an Awarding Organisation recognised and regulated by one of the UK Regulators (eg. Ofqual in England or SQA Accreditation in Scotland). The certificates of achievement which are awarded to the successful learners will include details of our chosen Awarding Organisation, Training Qualifications UK ("TQUK"), and the relevant UK Regulator along with the full qualification title and number.

These regulated qualifications are often required by learners/organisations for funding purposes. They're often regarded of higher value to an 'in-house' qualification, as the certificate for a regulated qualification demonstrates that the learner has attained a qualification approved by both a UK Regulator and recognised Awarding Organisation.

Our EFAW, FAW and PFA courses are available as regulated qualifications. If you require clarification or have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Additional accreditation and First Aid Qualifications

All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements. A first aid qualification does not have to be a regulated course i.e. through an AO as long as it complies with the guidelines of leaflet 74 and the due diligence checks have been done. Please see the free downloads below or get in touch if you would like any additional information on the thorough due diligence steps followed and maintained by The Bridge First Aid.

(CPD) Continuous professional development

All our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a certified CPD statement as well as a certificate. For the online courses an 'Evidence Based Learning' statement will also be provided. A CPD may be a requirement of membership of a professional body. It can help you to reflect, review and document your learning and to develop and update your professional knowledge and skills.

Animal Courses and Petworking Events
